Between 2006 and 2009 Bill served as a McHenry County Regional Planning Commissioner for the 2030 Plan.   Bill: is a former President of the Kiwanis Club of McHenry; is the Kiwanis adviser to the McHenry High School East and West Campus Kiwanis Key Clubs. 

Bill Swenson served six years in The United States Marine Corp, holds degrees in Pre-law, Accountancy, an MBA degree in Finance & Economics; and has done advanced (pre PH.D) studies in Finance.
